We make grants in furtherance of our charitable objects to individuals and organisations. The Trustees' current priorities are support for the work of professional composers of the last 100 years, and work which furthers the understanding of the life and music of Ralph Vaughan Williams and Ursula Vaughan Williams. Release is the national centre of expertise on drugs and drugs law providing free and confidential specialist advice to the public and professionals via our national legal and drugs helpline. The principal activity of the charity is the promotion of contemporary dance and the celebration of 21st century choreography. It exists for the benefit of the general public, to take dance out across the capital and to bring audiences in. It does this primarily through the annual Dance Umbrella festival by commissioning, producing and presenting dance works.
