Arts Charities

Our primary object is to formulate and prepare schemes for and take all necessary steps for the advancement of education and the improvement of public taste through the medium of arts, and in particular the arts of drama, dancing, singing and music.

The Charity educates, houses and supports the choristers of St Paul's Cathedral, to ensure that they have a full and nurtured life during the times when they are not singing in the Cathedral. In order to keep the choristers' life as normal as possible and to increase their social base,the Charity also educates non-choristers, some of whom are supported by Bursaries, funded by the school.

Midlands Arts Centre, MAC, exists to make innovative, creative arts activities an important part of people's lives. MAC is the most visited arts centre in the Midlands, with almost 1,000,000 visitors a year who come to MAC to enjoy theatre performances, music, comedy, plays for children, literature and poetry events, courses, family shows, films, dance performances and free exhibitions.

The Musicians Benevolent Fund relieves need amongst professional musicians and their dependants and advances musical education for young musicians.

Advancement of scientific and clinical education and research in endocrinology for the public benefit through grants, events, research, education of doctors, nurses and scientists, publications and to educate and inform the public and patients through providing support and information on all aspects of endocrinology.

We promote SNU Spiritualism, administer a College, run educational courses, conduct examinations, award Certificates, Diplomas, etc., appoint Ministers and Officiants, promote spiritual healing, put on publicity events and conferences, publish literature, enrol Churches and individuals in membership, provide information, advice and support, act as Trustee for Churches, and promote missionary work.

The objects of the Theatre, as set out in the Memorandum of Association are to promote, maintain, improve and advance education, particularly by the production of educational plays and the encouragement of the Arts, including the arts of drama, dance, singing and music

The major activities are the offering of dance examinations and qualifications for learners of all ages and abilities throughout the world, the administration of examination sessions, monitoring of all examination processes to ensure standards are consistent and to maintain and develop the standards of teaching through the appropriate courses and other training opportunities.

The charity provides a caring and well rounded education to children aged between 3 & 11, ensuring an awareness of others & promoting citizenship. It is intended that pupils will achieve their full potential academically as well as in music, art, drama & sport. After school activities are provided so that pupils can develop outside the main curriculum.

Oxford Playhouse is a 600 seat presenting and producing theatre. The high quality programme includes drama, new writing, children's theatre, comedy, music, local student and amateur work, lectures, poetry and talks. The Playhouse manages the Burton Taylor Studio featuring student and professional shows. The theatre runs an extensive learning and participation programme in the local community.

To advance education in music and orchestral playing of young people of Great Britain under the age of 21 by discovering and fostering exceptional musical talent and to help provide them with the highest level of tuition and experience in orchestral playing, as well as a broad range of related skills.

Promote, maintain, improve and advance education particularly by the encouragement of the arts, especially the art of ballet in classical, contemporary and other dance forms.

Bow Arts provides over 400 artists with affordable, secure and creative workspace across east London. It manages an exciting London-wide education programme, improving the lives and attainment of thousands of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. Bow Arts also runs a contemporary exhibition space - the Nunnery Gallery - and a varied events and community engagement programme.

The apostolate of the Catholic Truth Society is to publish and distribute books and religious items to promote understanding of the Catholic faith, to as wide an audience as possible. The apostolate relies on the income produced from sales of its goods and from donations from the Catholic and wider Christian community.

Berkshire Music Trust is an independent music service providing instrumental and vocal teaching in schools and music centres throughout Berkshire. We promote a comprehensive range of music activities working in close partnership with schools, colleges and community music groups. Funds are raised to support disadvantaged young people and talented young musicians.

The School of Philosophy & Economic Science offers courses in Philosophy, Economics and other subjects founded on spiritual principles expressing the natural laws applicable to humanity as discerned from the world's major spiritual and philosophical teachings. It also promotes arts & sciences through lectures, seminars and concerts, and supports other charities with similar activities and objects.

THE VEGAN SOCIETY PROMOTES A WAY OF LIFE THAT SEEKS TO AVOID, AS FAR AS IS POSSIBLE AND PRACTICABLE, ALL FORMS OF EXPLOITATION OF, AND CRUELTY TO, ANIMALS FOR FOOD, CLOTHING OR ANY OTHER PURPOSE.IT IS AN EDUCATION CHARITY PROVIDING INFORMATION AND SUPPORT THROUGH PUBLICATIONS, TALKS, INTERVIEWS, WEBSITES AND SOCIAL MEDIA. THE SOCIETY ADVOCATES FOR ALL, INCLUDING THOSE IN VULNERABLE SITUATIONS.

THE BIOCHEMICAL SOCIETY EXISTS FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF THE MOLECULAR AND CELLULAR BIOSCIENCES, BOTH AS AN ACADEMIC DISCIPLINE AND TO PROMOTE ITS IMPACT ON AREAS OF SCIENCE INCLUDING BIOTECHNOLOGY, AGRICULTURE, AND MEDICINE.WE ACHIEVE OUR MISSION THOUGH OUR PUBLICATIONS AND JOURNALS, SCIENTIFIC MEETINGS, EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES, POLICY WORK, AWARDS AND GRANTS TO SCIENTISTS AND STUDENTS.

The Society's main aims are to promote the advancement of physiology and to facilitate communication, both between scientists and with the wider public, through: the publication of scientific journals; support for scientific meetings; grants to allow physiologists to attend scientific meetings and develop research collaborations; and by supporting education and outreach activities.

We help children and young people explore the Bible, respond to Jesus and grow in faith. We make Jesus known through our work in communities, schools, holidays and missions. Through publishing, using print and digital media, we aim to inspire leaders to make disciples of children and young people with our resources and to equip Christians to grow in discipleship with Bible guides and publications.

The Trust produces and presents theatre, music and dance to entertain and educate the people of outer East London and Essex, and complements this with an extensive programme of educational and outreach activities, and a guest programme of professional and community events.
