Arts Charities

We are primarily an administrative body overseeing the activities of 13 churches including 2 LEPs and 1 shared church which provide worship opportunities, youth/luncheon clubs, pastoral care/support for local charities. Church premises are used by the community and third-party organisations e.g. uniformed organisations, playgroups, NCT, dance schools etc.

To advance the Hindu faith in accordance with Vedic Dharma for the public benefit by means of providing training and education in spiritual knowledge and Facilitating the production/distribution of publications furthering Vedic Dharma. The advancement of education in international studies and related subjects, through the provision of journals, a newsletter, website information, email list service, annual conference and events, provision of research funding through the funding of working groups and PhD students.

Tonic Music for Mental Health promotes good mental health in the music industry and in the community. It does this by providing mental health education, advice and support, both remotely and at events, and by providing opportunities to participate in music and the arts.

As a leading voice for African Theatre, we produce and create for the British and international stage, exceptional world class African theatre with imaginative flair. We create old and new plays and re-imagine classics in a way that demonstrates their contemporary relevance and appeal to a new audience and regular theatregoers.

Mentoring project partnering the children of Somers Town, London with volunteer theatre professionals to create theatre. Delivers drama and playwriting projects, working one-to-one, with the aim of boosting self-esteem, raising aspirations, improving literacy, social and communication skills. Committed to maintaining long-term relationships with children, families and the Somers Town community.

Lectures and retreats are held on a regular basis at the centre. The meditation room is used for daily services, and for private prayer and contemplation. The bookshop has a large stock of books on Vedanta and related subjects. The centre provides support for the philanthropic work of other Ramakrishna Math and Mission centres.

Provide workshops both in performing and technical skills leading to full public productions. The youth theatre and workshops are free to those that take part. From our base at the Broadway Theatre we provide a thriving centre available to young people of all ages within LB Lewisham to participate without exclusion due to economic or social background.

Under 5's Nursery Provision 8.30am to 5.30pm. Out of School Hours After School Club and Holiday play scheme for 4 to 11 years. Luncheon Club and befriending support for older people. Kids Zone is targeting large families that are interested in something more than simple baby-sitting facilities; they would like the children to be enrolled in a program that offers development of many different skills including:social skills, arts and crafts, reading, numbers, etc.

EFA London provides ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) classes for migrants in London. We work with institutions, such as schools, trade unions, community centres or faith organisations to set up courses. We encourage our participants to use their language and literacy skills to identify and bring about positive changes in their communities, for their families and themselves.
