It gives its members the opportunity of working and learning together by providing a wide range of leisure and learning activities. We work together to improve the quality of life in the community and to enhance the position of women by developing their skills and talents. We influence decision makers at all levels and are consulted by Government on major matters of social concern.

Sports & recreation. i.e. Football and other ball sports. Community activities, e.g. annual fete and bonfire.

Offers opportunities for women to enjoy friendship, to learn, to widen their horizons and together to influence local, national and international affairs.

Our objective is to advance the musical education of young people in the Leeds area, to promote, encourage and support all activities of CLYO, Fundraising provides bursaries and subsidies for tours & residential courses, music & soloist hire, pays for and maintains some of the rarer instruments the young musicians are less likely to own & funds the annual prizes awarded by the Conductor.

We are currently supporting the Samaritan's Purse Christmas Child Project, Teenage Cancer Trust and St Peter's Hospice indirectly ( by advertising fundraisng events to our members)

Main purpose of WI are to enable women to advance their education in citizenship, in public questions, national & international. In music, drama & all issues connected with rural life. It seeks to give women the opportunity of working together through the WI organisation, and of putting into practice those ideals for which it stands.

To provide facilties for education, recreation and social activities for the benefit of elderly people living in Lower Gornal or its surrounding areas.

MONTHLY MEETINGS FOR MEMBERS AND NEW MEMBERS ALWAYS WELCOME. NORMAL W.I. ACTIVITIES

Collection of monies at formal dinners from members and guests for distibution to selected benevolent societies and charities with a maritime connection.

Provides premises for Guiding activities in the Shirehampton area of Bristol. Including Rainbow, Brownie and Guide meetings.

Support friendship & social activities suitable for members of the older generation eg monthly lunch at a economical rate. This Club has been closed for more than a year, due to lack of members and COVID. We are unable to provide any accounts because the Santander A/c is frozen, the Treasurer died during shutdown. the a/c wasn't used, so the bankclosed it down and will not reopen it.

WE ARE A LOCAL WOMEN'S INSTITUTE. WE MEET MONTHLY WITH A LOCAL OR REGIONAL SPEAKER. WE ARE INVOLVED WITH THE W.I NATIONALLY AND FOLLOW THEIR INFORMATION AND GUIDANCE. WE AIM TO KEEP OUR MEMBERS INFORMED AS WELL AS INTERESTED IN ALL ASPECTS OF THE INSTITUTE.

Fund raising, personal and community service.

As one of the groups within the Berkshire Federation (BFWI) Chieveley WI meet in the Village Hall. We have varied interesting speakers and members' evenings, and we arrange coffee mornings, picnics, walks and pub lunches, outings and theatre trips. Our involvement in village events provide a range of activities for members and friends, working together through the NFWI organisation.

We raise money for charities locally and abroad. We give prizes to local comprehensive schools. We have a service day each year for local or international community. We assist Rotary with their charities.
